In this post, we are about to go through 7 of the most common mistakes web designers make when it comes to website design and creating a website in general.
< 1 > Use of too many colors.

Using many colors is something we’ve noticed newcomers often do. However, sometimes it’s not uncommon for an experienced web designer to use a lot of colors without even knowing it.
Metodiev Design suggests: A rule of thumb in the web design world is that you use 3 main colors and up to 2 other colors for the background.
The more colors you use, the more you hurt your Brand and your success online (unless you are targeting kids, of course, in this case, you could use many colors).
< 2 > Weak or No navigation at all.

Imagine landing on a website and not knowing where you came from, nor where to go from that point on. Not a pleasant feeling, we assure you.
Metodiev Design suggests: Having strong navigation, which indicates “where you are” and how long is it till the finish line (mainly making a purchase) is of vital importance for your website.
After all, business owners don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on a website and then confuse their customers as a result.
There’s a very good example (except our site, of course) that comes to mind when it comes to good navigation and that’s Smart Passive Income and their Start Here button.
< 3 > Bad Readability.

Readability is of critical importance for your website design.
Metodiev Design suggests: Use 2 or 3 fonts for each website you are creating because the more fonts you use, the slower your web page gets. Also, the more fonts you use, the worst user experience gets in terms of readability.
< 4 > Domain name that’s not a good fit for the business in question.

Most of the time, people use domain names that have nothing to do with the business they are in.
On top of that, imagine a domain name that’s too long – a no go. Now, imagine a domain name that’s too short – again not a good idea.
Metodiev Design suggests: Your domain name should be something you have an idea of before the actual creation of your website. It should be closely related to the business you are doing because it’d be easier for potential visitors to remember it.
< 5 > Overloaded Home Page.

Who likes an overloaded home page? I mean, c’mon you know the feeling when you land on a news website, for example. True that they have a right to put on so much content on there but still for the average reader that’s a way too distracting.
Metodiev Design suggests: If you are running a news website then you might want to “over deliver” on your home page, but for most businesses that’d be overkill. We always suggest seeking out the balance when it comes to your home page and website design.
< 6 > No Call to Action.

There are many great web designers that are able to develop
super cool websites. Also, we’ve seen many copywriters writing unique text and
giving their all but what’s the point of all this if your website just doesn’t
work?
Metodiev Design suggests: Always use Call to Action elements on your website, otherwise, your conversions will be hit in a big way. The more specific and creative the better.
< 7 > No Contact Form.

You might have or might have not noticed but Google pays
special attention to the ones who provide a contact form and a physical
address.
Think about it, why would Google care? Have you stumbled
upon a website on 1st page of Google that didn’t have a contact
form? I doubt you have and ever will.
Metodiev Design suggests: If someone has come to your webpage somehow, there’s a good chance that at some point he’d like to contact you. In such
Conclusion:
We’ve just outlined 7 of the most common mistakes web designers make in their website design. Of course, there are a whole lot more but we believe these are the ones that are easy to spot and correct.
(Bonus) Communication is important too:
